20 Pictures That Capture "DROWNLOAD" At Its Worst — Download Festival Highlights

Those moments that truly define a standard Download experience

If you're one of the lucky ones that have experienced Download Festival when it hasn't rained — then I hate you.

It's a common fact that when it rains over the grassy fields of Donington Park — it sure as hell pours. And, even after decades of hosting the ultimate rock weekender, it's still unknown as to why Download festival is always held captive by endless rain, thunder and sludge.

IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE F****** SUMMER!

For years, festival goers have had to endure the long weekend with nothing but a flooded tent, swampy boots, and an endless struggle with wrangling mud out of their hair. And it's become so "normal", that we sort of expect it each year now.

BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP THE FUN.

Download fans have always been up for a laugh, and a little mud has never stopped us from seeing our favourite bands. And that's why I love this community. Everybody is always willing to bypass the bullshit and just tuck right in to the carnage. And, it makes us cherish hot showers when we get home just that little bit more, too.

So, take a look for yourselves at the highlights of "Drownload" Festival. And if you think you've seen worse, then why not drop a comment of your experience down in the comments below?

Seeing as you're still here, I thought I'd treat you to an additional photo of myself at Download 2016.

Yes, that's right —I am in a TMNT costume. And yes, it did rain.

Right, it's time to share your muddy memories of Download Festival, guys. We'd love to hear your finest, and not so finest stories from your weekend. SO GET SHARING.

See you in the pit. Literally.
